Working for Ingenico Group has been very fulfilling from a career perspective. Everybody will kind of point to the wonderful technology that we work with, they’ll talk about the industry we work in being very fluid, very dynamic, very exciting, but the main benefit for working with Ingenico group is working with the people that I do. I work with a lot of great people who take the customer at heart and really are always driven to do the right thing and it’s a pleasure to work with them.
When you first think about the payments industry people think it’s an industry that doesn’t evolve, that doesn’t change. Frankly, being with Ingenico for the past 10 years, it’s been anything but that. We have new evolutions in payments, new evolutions in security, we have mobile. So, for me, what appears from the outside to be something very slow moving and methodical has actually been very dynamic, and for me, as a product person, that’s where my excitement comes from, because our products need to not only service those types of environments that have come before us, those environments that live today, but we also need to be very forward looking. As our customers maintain products for many years, we have to think not about what payments was or is, but where payments are going.
Ingenico does have a great impact on the global scale. All of our products can be used globally. We have services that are available globally. We have offices that are available in 150 countries. We have expertise that spans the world. When we talk to our customers on a regional level, we can provide that expertise. But when we talk to those multi-national customers, customers that want to work on a worldwide basis, Ingenico is the perfect partner because of those global reach of hardware, software and services.
When I think of Ingenico, I think of one word, empowering. We empower our customers to their business on a day to day basis. We empower our employees to do the best they can with all of the resources that we provide them. And we empower the market to bring new and innovative solutions to payment.
